Stay Home, Make Art

This blog provides art projects and other art resources to students during the spring 2020 school closures.

Put on a Puppet Show!

We moms love the things our kids make for us. We also love to watch them perform. How about combining our two favorite things with a home made puppet show!?

You can make your own puppet theater out of a cardboard box. I used the two flaps on the front to make doors for my theater. I decorated the doors with two different colors of sticky notes and wrote the title of my puppet show on them. You can use paint or colorful tape to decorate your theater, or use sticky notes like me if you have them!

Here is a video to show you how to make a banner for the inside of your theater. In the video, I accidentally said to fold it “hamburger” style, but I meant to say “hotdog” style. Make sure you have a long skinny rectangle when you fold your paper.

In this video, I show you how to make a really simple puppet for your puppet show.
